3rd gear grind

Clutch issue would affect more than just 1 shift. Syncros have gone bad on your 3rd gear.
I'm willing to bet you have an AP-1.....
Tell me I'm wrong.
also, of note, the S likes to be shifted at 4-5K RPMs.

Honda MTF. 10w30 or 10w40 motor oil can be used in a pinch.
My AP1 really likes to be shifted at 8900rpm with a clutch/gas pedal maneuver so slick that'd take even the Shaolin Monk karate master years to replicate.
Cycle some fresh brake fluid through your clutch master cylinder and bleed it properly. Mine felt notchy going from 2 to 3 before I did that and felt better but not cured completely afterwards. I ended up readjusting the clutch switch and the clutch pedal height and stroke. The pedal was way too low - that fixed it for me.

in a quick shift WOT situation, most people do not fully press the clutch pedal during shifts. You dont necessarily need to with a fully maintained hydraulic system where full engagement comes before the pedal is to the floor. If air is in the system or the rod has not been adjusted, then it may require the pedal to be pushed all the way to the floor. (im not saying the OP is not an experienced driver). but i do think changing the fluid and bleeding the system along with a clutch rod adjustment would be the first thing to try before replacing a synchro
