Actually, about the only way most people's brains can perceive 4D objects is to imagine the 4th dimension as time. Imagine a 3D fuel map that changes shape over time...that's 4D.

Working with hypercubes isn't bad when looking at the mathematics, but trying to make a printed image that is understandable is pretty much impossible. The images look like a cube with dips and protrusions that slowly morphs over time...but at some instant the cube seems to practically "warp" into some other cube...that's where people get confused.

But I digress...
