30k Maintenance Question
Helms lists the master cylinder piston as something to grease at least once a year. This requires opening the cylinder and looks like a lot of trouble.
Is this a common maintenance practice with other manufacturers? Is it really necessary?

Where in the Manual are you looking? Most likely they are talking about the pedal linkage/pushrod under the dash. There isn't anything to lubricate inside the master cylinder that the brake fluid isn't allready doing.

I am curious about what this involes as well. Service manual pages 3-2 and 3-3 item 10. It does not look like what they are talking about is under the dash. My only useful input.
