It's only 300, you don't have to go buck wild w/ maintenance, just check your oil level and tire pressure.

welcome to stockton.

went down to torrance for the s2k Homecoming and did 90+ the entire way.

So overall (stopping for food and gas) the trip was ~4.5 hr

only thing is that you feel dizzy after driving that distance in a s2k.

i drove from ft lauderdale to north carolina, i think it was around 1000 miles and 12 hours straight just stopped for gas and food. didnt feel dizzy, but was sore after all the driving. def not a cruiser car for super long distances. top down + loud music + sunny day = fun in s2k

Welcome to area! I'll be headed down to SoCal on 1/11 for the weekend. I was also down to Paso Robles mid-December. Gotta drive it to enjoy it. Aside from checking fluids, don't worry - have fun! It's why you bought the S2K instead of a Pontiac Solstice!

camuman - Much more comfortable than my '04 Accord 6sp. Great for long trips, long as you love the one you're with, since it is, well..... cozy.

If you are not doing your own oil change, just make sure that they tighten the drain plug properly and that the oil filter is tightened properly and not leaking. 300 miles is a piece of cake. 4- 4.5 hours.

Ear plugs will cut out the road noise and make the stereo sound much better on long trips with the top up or down. It will save your ears, too.

A 300 mile trip is good for your engine. It will burn off any moisture and fuel dilution you may have accumulated from short trips, and it will help your oil last a lot longer (higher TBN). Highway miles are very easy on the entire drivetrain.

Most of my miles are on 250+ mile trips each way, and I've never had a problem. Since the RPMs don't go much higher than 4000, oil consumption is almost nil.

I agree that checking tire pressure is a good idea.
