30,000 mile maintenance
Do you think a 30,000 mile scheduled maintenance is required? I just hit the 30,000 mark today. I have a 2004 and it was my first winter with her. I changed my own oil last time using Mobil 1 10w-30 synthetic.

if you changed your oil, are you capable of changing the transmission and differential fluid? or maybe you have done that already? only other things i can think of at that mileage, maybe the air filter/cabin filter...maybe flush the clutch and brake fluid...nothing that would require dealer rape that i can think of though

I changed my own oil. I had Jeff at JDV Motorsports change my tranny fluid. I'm going to change my own differential fluid and cabin air filter as well.
What differential fluid do you recommend? The owners manual says to use an SAE 90 viscosity hypoid gear oil. I was just going to use this:
http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/..._75W-90LS.aspx
Let me search for flushing clutch and brake fluid.
Thanks.

You definitely do NOT need it.
Post what you know has been done to the car, and we can tell you what you need.
The dealer will do useless things like lube your door hinges with some spray junk and charge you a ton of money.
They will not change your clutch fluid, do the axle nut tsb, or anything else the car actually needs. Dont do it.

im literally in the exact situation. 04, with 30K on the clock.
ive done trans & diff more than once. Engine oil is done, just installed an intake so the air filter is good. its got aftermarket NGK iridiums in it but i want to go back to stock cause i think its giving me a dead spot in the power band.
what do you put the shin-etsu grease on? all the window, soft top & HT seals?

my 04 has 53,000 on it...you may want to annually change cabin filter, and wipers....i change my own oil every 4,000 miles or so...use regular oil, 10/30 i buy at costco...chevron....never any oil use.
recently i adjusted my valves, car runs allot better, smoother, more torque...and perhaps 1 mpg better(to soon to say for sure). i would have all fluids changed since you just got the car, to start fresh...wonderful car and easy enough to work on..

Car currently has 30,100 miles.
It's been 5,000 miles since I changed my oil. I use Mobil 1 synthetic and was thinking of changing oil at 7,500 intervals. So I will change oil at 32,500.
Transmission fluid has been changed at approximately 27,500 miles.
I purchased a K&N drop it and put it in at approximately 27,500 miles.
I plan on changing the differential fluid as soon as I can.
I plan on changing the cabin air filter as soon as I can.
