Default 3-inch exhaust

I'm in the market for a new exhaust, and I was wondering if getting a 3-inch exhaust for my basically stock S2000 would be an overkill? I know a 3-inch exhaust is good for a F/I S2000, but what about mine? Would it yield more power than a 2 1/2 inch exhaust? I like the 2 1/2 inch exhausts, don't get me wrong, but if I'm gonna spend $1,000, I want more than 3 HP! Basically, is a 3-inch exhaust too much for a stock S2000?!? Thanks!

not only is it overkill on a NA s2000 but you will lose power with a 3 inch exhaust.

Thank you for your help! I'll stay away from the 3-inch exhaust until I go Forced Induction.

??? How could you lose HP if the engine can breath easier???

Here read through these threads for a better explanation. Mostly on page 2 for the second thread. It's not about free flowing it's about proper tuning.
