okay... as I was driving today and listening to my brake, it's pretty much when I do light taps to the brake then it starts squealing. When I start adding more pressure to the brake as i come to a complete stop the squealing fades away.

need new brake pads, as far as 2nd gear popping out, was the car warm enough, i have a 02 and when i learned about the fuel cutoff i was in 2nd and at about 6.5 the gas cut off and pushed my gear into neutral. not sure how that is but it happened all the same

With the brakes, check the pads to see if they're worn. How many miles do you have?

As for 2nd popping out, there are some AP2's that have had issues with that. However, there are also accounts of this issue where the driver was not fully shifting into 2nd gear and the shifter has popped out when the clutch was let out. Make sure that the times the shifter pops out it's not because you're shifting lazily or absentmindedly missing the full shift. No one likes to admit they might not be shifting properly, but, hey, it's happened to me...
