2nd and 3rd gear
So I have done a search but most of what i get is from a few years back. Im hoping someone can tell me something new. I just recently bought an 05 with 32,000 miles. Whenever i first start driving at any point during the day no matter if first drive of the day or not, 2nd and 3rd gear are either hard to engage or they almost grind. I just changed the trans fluid last week with honda stuff hoping that would solve the issue but its hasn't. Now i have read several posts saying that this is pretty normal but does that mean for an 05 or for all s2000's. Surely the 08's dan't have the same issue. Have they updated the synchros or anything to remedy the problem. If so, can't i have the updated parts put in to fix the problem.

I dont' think it worth it to just change the 2nd and 3rd gear synchros. You might be better off with a new/used transmission.
Maybe the previous owner screwed up shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

it shouldn't grind, but it sure doesn't slide in like cutting butter with a warm knife (until the tranny fluid is up teo temp).
If it's still grinding or notchy when everything is up to temp, you have a problem. But s2k transmissions in general aren't 'normal' as they are direct link to the tranny
