2006 S2000 Engine hardly accepting throttle input under 3000 rpm
Hi all,
I have a very strange issue with my 2006 S2000.
When i start it at cold I can drive teh car normally under 3000 rpm.
It accepts throttle input very smoothly and accelearates immediately even under WOT.
After latest 5 minutes is bogging and hardly acceptiing any thottle inputs over idle.
When i accelerate very slowly it will rev but when you want to accelerate harder (revs below 3000)
its bogging and it feels like its running on 3 cylinders or missing fuel.
Anyone had this before?
MAP sensor maybe?!

Yves,
Run a compression test and a leak down test to see if your motor is healthy. Then work your way backward.
Read this thread. Explains a lot, even with DBW 06 S2k issues.

give the map a wack. and do a relearn.. pull fuse or dic battery ..wait 2mins.. put back . start the car cold, hold revs at 3k until you get 3bars ap1 or 4/5 ap2 on the temp gauge , when you get the norm op temp let it idle for 5 mins. then turn off, then take it for a test drive.. your PS my turn off wile doing it but it will turn back on when you drive it

why do you think I should to a compression test?
When the car is cold it pulls perfectly from 1000 rpm to 3000 rpm, lots of torque.
Just after 4-5 min I guess when teh cold start mapping changes to the normal map thats where it happens.
Also when teh engine is at running temp it pulls really good all the way up to 9000 (its an 2.0 eu spec 2006)

Just throwing it out there.
So its fine cold, fine hot but during transition from cold to hot its bad?
Sounds like a part is not warming up as fast as it should.
It gets warm after a while from heat radiation (?) but not as fast as the rest, when "the rest" is also cold its no problem.
Coolant line blocked to intake?
When did this start to happen?
Any work done before it started?
Any CEL?

How long has this been going for? This has happened to me before and went on for a day or too but then I added some Techron additive to my fuel tank and it was gone. A bad tank of gas from a sketchy gas station might be causing this. Sometimes the octane rating is lower than it should be or moisture in the gasoline

But as soon as the car heats up (after maybe 4 min) its there already and wont go away.(no driving possible between 1000 and 3000 revs)
The car was sitting for more than a year but im already on the 3rd full tank of gasoline and its still the same.
The CAI has been exchanged from a no name to a K&N CAI (filter and tubing) but I have connected it the same way.
What colant line to intake do you mean? The internal one?

The ICV - Idle Control Valve - has coolant running through it, bolted to the intake manifold.
There is a DIY on how to clean it.
Btw.. now you mention "it won't go away" after it starts after 4 mins but in your 2nd post you say it runs fine when at operating temp - pulling fine till 9k, etc.
Or is that from 3 till 9, still (or always) "bogging" from idle to 3 when warm?
Just asking.
Other than "it sounds like something - like temp - is out of sync" I have no clue.
