2005, 76k miles - did valve adjustment today
engine was not making any unusual valve train noise, just wanted to check valve clearances because of 76,000 miles.
Nice to see the top end nice and clean. This is oil changes every 4-5k miles.
I see some very slight scoring on cam lobes for cylinder 1. Otherwise cam lobes look pretty good.
All the exhaust valve clearances were tight. All the intake valve clearances were loose. Made very slight adjustments as none were greatly out of spec.
Did not notice any difference in engine noise upon re-assemby and start-up. All I noticed was a sore back from bending over. Yikes!
All in all, not too bad of a job.

You have by far the most reliable year for s2ks engine wise, I've never seen an 04 or 05 that needed a valve adjustment badly.

If I ever were to buy an ap2, the 04/05 model years would be the direction I would go in.
