2004 transmission in a 2000
I just bought a 2004 s2k transmission with 20K shipped for 1400. Then I found out that not only is the yoke on the tale shaft different but so is the drive shaft. If that is the case im pretty sure I can just change the yoke out. Has anyone actually done this swap or do I get to be the lucky first to find out that this wont work? (im being sarcastic)
In the last 6 months I have had to replace the top and tail lights (the top is just part of owning a convertible and the tail lights were on recall) then my rear differential went out and I had to have that replaced. Last month the clutch went out and I had that replaced. Two weeks ago my cousin was driving behind me and told me that the car constantly smokes, so I now have to go have that checked out. Then I leave a stop sign today (driving completely normal) and my car does fine in first but as soon as I put it in second it makes the loudest gear noise I have ever heard in my life. Now my car wont even move once placed in first or second gear. If im real easy on it I can get it to move in third but I think its about to go also. I have had more problems out of my S2000 in the last 6 months, than I have had out of all the Hondas I have ever owned (which is about 8 my 1990 accord was bought brand new, granted it was by my parents, but I still own it today). Im not going to lie and say I drive it like a granny all the time. But it certainly doesn

I've done a few. your old flange will bolt right up no problem, so you can use your old driveshaft.
One more note: your speedo will be off, since the secondary reduction is different and speed is read before it.
It will read on the safe side a few MPH. you'll get less speeding tickets

Boy, talk about crappy luck. If it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any at all.
As for the '04 tranny in an '00 (AP2 tranny in an AP1), this has been done many, many times. It's a great mod for an AP1. All you have to do it to take the output flange off your old tranny and swap it with the AP2 tranny. The rest will then just bolt right on.

So AP2 tranny directly fit on AP1, just switch the output driveshaft flange? Anything else?
A pic of my new 2005 AP2 transmission going in with the flange from my 2002 API
