Default 2004 Rear Defroster Not Working :(

Hi All,
I bought my 04 last summer and didn't really have much use for the rear defroster because I rarely drive the car and when I did, I never had to defrost the rear window.... so I don't know if it ever worked or not....

Anyhow, if I remember correctly, at one point the rear defrost button was backlit, but it looks like the button is non-functional and doesn't seem to work... Is there a way for me to troubleshoot this...

Do I need to buy a new button to see if that is the culprit?

Could it be a fuse somewhere? or a faulty connection?

Just looking for some places to start...

Thanks!

Sounds exactly like a fuse problem. Check your owners manual - there is a section on fuses where it describes what each fuse does in the box (located under the dash on the driver side). Pull that fuse and check the top (by looking the the translucent colored plastic) to see if the little metal piece is zapped. If it is, then you've probably found your culprit. If not, time to do more digging... Good luck!
