I have been reading how little maintenance these cars require and how many folks are unhappy with the dealer service they have had...i also have been contemplating doing my own oil change, something i have not done on a car for years.

So I bought 3 filters for $5.25 each on sale at my dealer. I bought a cosco case of chevron supreme 10/30 oil. I also got the little crush washer you need for the oil pan bolt.

Put car on rino ramps, easier than i thought. 17mm box wrench for oil bolt, which was not stripped(yet) and came off easily. Luckily the oil filter came off by hand as I do not have an oil filter wrench that fits any of the honda filters, the little one that was on the car and the larger one that i bought.

Use a funnel to put oil back into car....Kragen or any other place with take the oil free, use old bleach type plastic bottles...simple, clean, and cost me about $12.00. I did not do it for the cost savings, the dealer would do it on a saturday for about $40.00. Another way to bond with your car.

Yep yep! Same thing I do. Nothing quite like being rest assured that the job was done 100% right. Even something as simple as an oil change if you think about can be easily botched up by some rookie/careless Honda tech.
