2004 AP2 compression - 265 PSI across all 4?
Got the engine to operating temperature, extracted the plugs and did pressure test across all 4 cylinders - 3 times each.
Cylinder 1: 265 psi
Cylinder 2: 262 psi
Cylinder 3: 266 psi
Cylinder 4: 260 psi
What could cause these higher compressions? Engine seems to be fine and not blowing smoke or anything. Maybe it's carbon buildup? Previous owner only put 4k miles on it in the last 4 years.

Prolly compression gauge absolute readings maybe a bit optimistic. Need calibrating against known good gauge? Anyhow, at least you have consistent readings across the four cylinders.

I'm no expert but from what I understand, you needn't worry unless one cylinder is a lot lower than the others or they're all very low. You should be fine, as I've never heard of issues with high compression lol

Your numbers are great.
P.S. Y'all are going on about consistency because his numbers are high, but when someone brings in a consistent 180 across the board people start freaking out... Come on now!

I've pulled 265 on all 4 before too. My current ride is 235 on all 4 with 156,000 miles.
On a different note, yes all compression reads different. I rented one from auto zone (brand new too), and did a compression test on a rsx type s. It read 160 on all 4. Compression tested again with another gauge and got 220 on all 4. So yea gauges sometimes do read different

These motors have high compression ratios. That's why they make such awesome power per liter and require 91 octane. Your numbers look like you are just a guy with a very healthy motor.
