And what basis do you have for stating this engine will survive only 90k to 150k? Not to mention that's quite a range of mileage, and a severe generalization.

How about all of those that are already PAST the 150k mark. Have you seen those threads where people list their cars with the highest mileage? I've seen more people talk about going past 150k then people having the car die before then.

So do you have a factual basis for your statement, or are you just touting your own theory as such?

I don't know why people get so excited about this. I picked those numbers because they are 30% shorter than what is considered 'long' engine life simply because on average this car is geared 30% shorter.

I have no doubt some will beat those numbers but we also have seen posted a number of spun bearings, worn guides, and scarred cylinder walls on engines sooner than expected. These engines are generally run more revs per mile and harder than most.

Sure it is a generalization but one based on common sense and observations of the community.

Then I think I misunderstood you. I understand what you mean, but I think 30% is more than the actual figure.

While yes the S2000 may have a 30% higher redline and shorter gearing, it's also probably engineered better than the cars such a comparison would be made.

I'd think 15 or 20% at most would be more realistic IMO.
