Default 2.4L out of 2.2l F22C Possible, worth it?

Anyone with valuable info can you chime in on this procedure, if the possibility exist and if its worth it, cost wise and performance wise. On a turbo 2004, thanks.

If you took it out 2mm and O-ringed it you could see closer to 2.3 Liter. Your '04 is not quite 2.2, more like 2.15.

Have Alaniz do a head with 1.5mm oversized valves and with some boost you would have a rocket ship. You should be able to see 400 hp with low boost on pump gas.
More if you want it.

So if I recall UL talked about it being possible for a 2-5mm overbore on a stock f20c....since they use the same block, wouldn't it also be possible?

BTW when you're in there see what it would take to bring the red back to 9K....just new lighter stronger rods, or more...

well im just contemplating the issue at the moment, want to know if its possible, the bigger i get to make the engine i beleive the more whp will come with the same boost. I dont know about reving to 9k as i am in no way or form an expert or even close to knowlegeable on this issue, thus my thread. It would be interesting to know how much you can bore 2.3 or 2.4 and what gains to expect and cost. I think rods pistons and crank would be involved in increasing the redline. Where are the s2ki mad scientist today?

i think its a bit more involved than that, because of the piston speeds and wat not again, this is speculation on my part.

piston speeds would be astronomical at 9k rpm with a 2.2+ liter motor. if going for high hp applications, i could live with a lower redline but with more turbo hp gains...

good luck vtk

there is an easy way, but yet to be fully tested.

use an 04 engine and a TSX crank with modified rods and pistons. the TSX crank fits right in.

cant rev all the way to 8000, but torque #'s should shoot up quite a bit.

more on it in a bit....

very intersting thing
but wouldnt that cause a very small vtec range, unless you lower it alot. I dont mind the 8k redline, but i know a 2.3 or 2.4 the tq gains will be very very good with boost. kind of looking at wat happens on a gsr or r compared to the h22
