Default 2.2 swap

ok so I've seen people have swapped in the 2.2 in place of the 2.0 and everything is ok... so far. here's the back story... I blew my motor 3 years or so ago around the time of the recession. and my car has been sitting and now things are back on track and I'm ready to start building up the car for racing. I want to stroke the car to 2.4 but I'll be honest I don't have bill gates bank account. I have my old motor lying around in pieces I was gonna buy a new f20 short block from honda ($2,800) and use my old head for the f20 with upgraded cams, springs, and retainers, but then i thought.. why not get a f22 short block instead. now my question is can i use the f20 head with upgraded components on the f22 block with an 03 ecu and be ok for 9k given i might be able to hold the power curve to 9k? i would love to have the toda 2.4 kit installed but everyone keeps crying about the f22 cant handle 9k.... how the hell does the 2.4 handle 9k? or are they not saying you must drop the red line to 7k and get vtec killer cams and upgraded oil pump? (the 2.4 toda kit isnt in the question for me to get I'm just throwing out the scenario) so I'll settle for the 2.2 "stroker" compared to my 2.0. I'm also taking the heads to a machine shop to be cleaned now has anyone shaved a bit off the bottom of the heads to increase compression? and if so how did that effect the timing chain tension and also how much was taken off. I figure if I machine the heads it might be way to damn close for the valves and the piston but itll be my way of a cheaper 2.2 stoker from toda (i.e. increase compression and stroke)

now I have bigger plans for the spare block ill have lying around which include a dry sump oiling system and sequential tranny but no idea on the internals just yet.

p.s. sorry for the bad grammar and lack of punctuation or if you get lost reading my post it makes sense in my head but may not make sense to you. it's late my time and I've been racking my brain over this for a while now. also I'm a mechanic so I do know what I'm doing when im turning a wrench. but I'm not a performance shop mechanic im use to throwing the right parts in the right car not swapping compatibility so thats where you all come in lol.
