Its an hour job easy. I drain my trans fluid, and engine fluide at the same time. Fill both and then move to the back.

$170 is crazy! But understandable from some shops. Find someone in the club to do it for $50 that has experience, or do it yourself.

I'd take that money and invest in tools and yourself (knowledge).

With that being said, I feel even with a dealer doing the work, thats too much. Maybe its been awhile since I've been to one and required their services, but with the tools/equipment they use, I could do that job in 30 mins.

Buy some beer and tools. Do it yourself and learn. The joy of driving and knowing the car is priceless.

wth, I went to evasivemotorsports and they did all that work with me including parts for WAY under 100. That was for a Oil, Tranny, Diff oil change, and it was done if i can find the receipt for like 65 or something.

Thats a total rip man sorry.

Whatever you do, don't let a Honda dealer change your diff fluid. They'll use Honda VTM diff fluid which is wrong. There is no Honda branded fluid that works in our differentials.

definitely not hard at all to change all the fluids, so I would suggest doing it yourself since it'll be much cheaper and much more rewarding accomplishing something on your own. i personally wouldn't waste $170 on labor itself if you're already going out of your ways to buy all the maintenance parts and since you already did, all you'll need is a 23 and 24mm wrench to change out the diff fluid and a pump for the tranny fluid.

When I got my S used last year, the first thing I did was change every fluid on the car. Before this I had never worked on cars myself whatsoever, yet I was able to teach myself to perform all these services using the manual and online walkthroughs. I didn't run into any trouble except for a coolant explosion because I didn't purge air out of the system.

I'm really glad I decided to do everything myself. I've learned alot along the way and I get great pride from working on the car. I would definitely encourage you to try it. Tackle one fluid change at a time, do your research, don't rush, use the proper tools, and everything will work out fine.

depends on what dealership u go to. The dealership I work a we use 75w90 gear oil, not vtm fluid as u stated.

the difficulty in replacing the fluids is relative in terms of how experienced the person is under the hood.
If you've never worked on your car before it might be a challenge. But to those of us who have worked many times fixing cars in our own garage, fluid change is really not that hard and 170 seems a bit high just for labor in doing this. If you know a friend, or perhaps someone on s2ki who is pretty knowledgeable with changing the fluids you should just give them about 50 and let them do it for you.
