Get a good set of pads and rotors, stainless lines, good rubber on the wheels, and you're set. Most of these big break kits arnt necessary, unless youre threshold braking from 140 on the commute every day.
The rears are even more unnecessary. The fronts do most of the work. Again, good pads, rotors and rubber. THats the number one requirement.

getting some really nice track pads will make the car stop faster or lock up your tires faster than a BBK can out of the box.
BBK's for the street are more of a show thing. So get which ever one you think are the most bling bling

No S2000 experience with anything but my wonderful 6 piston caliper Wilwood big brake kit. I was extremely happy with the price, right in line with StopTech, cheaper than Brembo. They do for sure make the car stop better, even go as far as to say superior on repeated harder stops than stock. So far have had no quality issues, so I'd say they are fine there too. Call Sherwin @ Brake Zone as soon as his health comes back to him and he can help you out.
Brembo experience is non-S2000, but a 700+HP Supra TT and a 700+HP 3000GT VR4 at Road America where the Brembo's were great, especially stopping hard into Canada corner and turn 1 at over 150MPH, always seemed to hold up very well, but in both cars the Brembo 14" drilled rotors were chewing up the Pagid race pads pretty good, not really any fade until the last couple laps (Motul RBF600 fluid used in both cars) but they were being pushed extremely hard.
Be prepared to have to use longer wheel studs with both Brembo and StopTech, the Wilwood 4 piston fits everything, and the 6 piston fits a lot with no spacer needed, 3mm max. is what I've seen so far, but that will NOT require longer wheel studs.

I watched a show on speed tv, sports car revolution I think, where they installed bigger rotors. They found a reduction in measured hp at the wheels resulting from the larger diameter. It was a significant loss. They also stated that larger diameter wheels can have a similar effect. Any truth to this?

This may to some extent explain the conflicting reports about power output of the 04 vs. earlier versions of the S2000. In the U.S. to measure the same power as the 2003 2.0 liter version, means that the car must have more power. For the European version to measure the same power, with no engine change, means that Honda must have hidden some additional power there also.
