Default 12V Source Only When Car Is Running?

OK...I am installing Day Time Running lights using the Hamsar Visi-Light Module # 45040. I have everything connected but for the last wire it says to either wrap it around a spark plug wire a few times, or find a 12V source when the ignition is in the run position. Now it suggests the oil pressure switch, but I haven't any idea on where to find this. If anyone knows where to locate this or of any other 12v source only when the car is running please let me know.

Any help at all would be really great!!

Thanks,
Tyler

If they say wrap it around a spark plug wire, then it doesn't need 12V. It needs a control source.

I'd go for the tach signal wire by the ECU if thats the case, which produces an AC voltage.

Thanks for the reply. Before you could get back to me, I found a source under the hood that only gave power when I had the car running. I think it is the tps or the iac valve, not sure. But after hooking everything up it still doesn't work, so I'll go ahead and try your tach wire. If it connects to the ECU does it go into the engine bay somewhere? If so, where might I find it...if not and it's only by the ECU where might I find it, I am not sure where the ECU is and I don't have a manual.

Forgive me, I am new to the S2000 world. Just imported the car from the States to Canada, and I only have about 30 days to get these DRL's working.

Thanks again,
Tyler

In the fuse box under the dash their is 3 spade terminals one one side in a row .

one is parking lights
one is constant 12vt
one is 12vt ignition or as you say 12vt when running .

Just put a speaker terminal on the wire and plug it in . Easy as that , no splicing needed .

Just make sure you fuse it .

Ok, I looked at the fuse boxand cant seem to find the 3 in a row you are talking about. On the top right there is one for parking lights, but underneath that there are a bunch more but they have fuses in them. There are no open spots that have terminals in them. On the right side at the bottom there are 3 open slots, but they have no metal terminals in side, so nothing will plug into them. Any Ideas??

Thanks,
Tyler

Thanks xviper! Great help...got them working now and everything is all hooked up. I am just using my markers as my day time runners, and Im just going to put a high wattage set of bulbs in them. What wattage is safe to go with for the markers?
