Default 12v outlet

I may be being dumb but.......My car is an '04 model and the 12v outlet seems loose. It spins and wobbles a bit. Nothing major but starting to hack me off. Anyway, browsed thru the forums and found plenty of info on how to tighten up the retaining bolt and it looked easy so off I went. Got all the screws out, prised back the panel, stuck my hand in and.....no retaining bolt! Outlet doesnt pull out or anything but is just loose. Did they make changes to the mounting at some point or have I got a strange one?

I helped a buddy do his 05 after he completely pulled his out. It should be the same if I remember right. Check the whole wires from the 12v socket to the other end of the wires, which should run behind the passager seat, the retainer bolt might have roll through the wires. If its just loose try turning the 12v socket from the outside, it'll tighten once the wires in the back panels is twisted, giving it more tension. This is just a quick fix if your 12v socket hasn't pulled out yet, but if its pulled out, you'll have to do it the hard way.
