10k RPM Valvetrain

10k RPM Valvetrain
I am currently looking into new valves, springs, & retainers for my MY 00. As far as tuning goes, I know it is more expensive for less gain but I am dead set on staying NA, and so am exploring every avenue of gaining NA power. Furthermore, I would like to build a motor capable of reliably spinning 10k RPM on a regular basis. My first question is, is building a reliable 10k RPM motor possible and or functional? Also what type of valves, springs, & retainers might you more knowledgable members and mechanics recommend?
My list of current mods inlcudes custom headers, custom exhaust, custom intake, buddy club condenser, hondata intake manifold gasket, and all of the mugen cooling parts (thermostat, fan switch, and radiator cap.) Tuning is via Apexi V-AFC II.
ANY AND ALL HELP APPRECIATED!

if done, that would be awesome. i'm sure you can build the valvetrain to take the beating(stiffer springs, stainless valves, etc.), but my worries would be with the bottom end. and i'm sure you'd have to get the crank balanced to that rpm.

Supertech makes good coated stainless valves, double valve springs, and Ti retainers. Since you're changing out the valvetrain might as well have headwork done. I'm not sure if the cams will continue to make much power beyond 9000rpm though. It would be interesting to see you go through with this project though.

The only way you are going to see power increase over 8700 or so is to upgarde cams. My power still falls of after about 9000 or so. I am on stock cams but have some other issues to work out before switch to something aftermarket.

Supertech valvetrain (dual springs, Ti. retainers, SS valves) would let you rev to 10k daily without much of a sweat however you wont make any additional power doing so. Just a lot of RPM noise
Cams would definately need to be changed to breathe some more. The spoon engines are just factory motors if I remember the specs correctly with a thinner headgasket.
If you're looking for supertech valvetrain, we stock them:

Thats too bad that Ultimate Lurker left, I most definitly would have been interested in hearing about his setup. After reading the few comments left here, I have come to my next question, how makes such a cam?
The only mass produced cams I have heard of for our car are from Toda. Apparently they made a set awhile back which gave great low rpm increases but killed the top end. The new set supposedly doesnt lose any low end but has only marginal gains in the top, doesnt sound very good for all the money.
Anyways, the only other cams I have heard of are from Schrick which i cant seem to locate. Anybody out there who can point me in the right direction please help!!!

Don't waste your money on the toda cams. There are custom cams out there that certain people have. There will be some cams produced shortly by brian crower. Should only be a matter of time before those are released.
