Default 1 cause of misfire codes found

Had a S2k in and had misfire in #2 , #3 . Found valve keepers sinking into valve retainers causing incorrect valve lash. It didn't have alot of noise at top end but was some. Found it with a micrometer and measured valve high from bottom of head to top of retainer. But when cams where out was very visible. Just though I'd let you guys know about this since I see alot of us with misfire problems.

I've edited your title to be more descriptive.

You may want to add what DTC's where present, and under what conditions.

whatever! maybe you can be my secretary HEHE just kidding but....

I thought I was being descriptive by saying misfire in #2 & #3 but the codes for misfire in those cylinders is P0302 & P0303 or code 72,73.

Also idle wasn't bad but under acceleration part throttle is when light would flash, meaning when light flashes this is a problem that could cause cat damage, then light would stay solid.

Not everyone that reads UTH knows what DTC corosponds with what cylinder. Given your post, I can assume that you're a dealer tech. Thanks for adding the details.
