I bought my S2k with only 13k on the odometer and I started experiencing the same thing. I figured the clutch was burned out and the previous owner abused my car. After learning a bit about how to drive the car with the weak pressure plate and CDV, the clutch isn't an issue at all. With the stock drivetrain on the later models, you can't really drop the clutch on a launch, and you can't bang through the gears like you can on some cars.
Give the car just a split second more after a shift, and it'll drive like a dream. My only problem is when I start getting a little too excited, and then I get burned (and so does my clutch!)

Its not the CDV. Its the weak OEM pressure plate - it doesn't provide enough force to clamp down the clutch friction disk and flywheel, so you get slippage at high rpms. Live with it by shifting slower or replace the pp with an aftermarket unit like an ACT pp.
CDV is not the cause.
