Default 05 AP2 Cluster Gauge Bubbling/Fading - Fix?

Just purchased a 05 AP2 for my wife and it looks like various parts of the cluster gauge is peeling from the inside. Has anyone seen this? Any guess as to which part actually needs to be replaced? Thanks - Jack

OEM Reference Chart (Which piece do you think it is?)

First time I've seen that, and I'm going to assume those are NOT protective stickers a previous owner put over the actual tach?

Not a common problem at all, at least on California s2000s.

I believe the tach comes as a whole unit, but I wonder if this is the diffusion plate (#5, $18.69) or the LCD assembly (#1, $397.95)? In for an expert opinion.

I was hoping it would just be some protective stickers but it wasn't. My guess is that the dealership was overly generous with their detailing materials and it seeped into that area. The rest of the interior is minty. If it's #5 i'd be a happy man, not so much #1 lol.

I believe you can replace just the plastic cover. I know 08-09 guys swap in the CR plastic and its like a $30 part.
