would it be good to put an 04 tranny in an 00-03? i thought I read that the 04 is geared lower in the first 4 gears and is higher in the 5th and 6th. It seems like that would be good to have with a 4.56 rear end. what do you all think?

Could be, but it'll be a while before you can pick up an 04 tranny for anything close to a decent price.

My only concern is the new slave cylinder is aluminium, and looks totally different from the 00-03. The rest of the trans will attach fine. May require an 04 slave cylinder.

Like Aus said, finding an 04 trans is gonna be pretty hard untill more get wrecked.

Let's see, if the info on the gearing is correct and gears 1 to 4 is "like" having 4.44's in the ass end and then you wanna put 4.56's in there for real, you'll have about the equivalent of about 4.9 rear end in gears 1 to 4. I don't know. Might be a lot of shifting in town.

There is an 04 engine and tranny on ebay. I think its been there for a while, I emailed them to see if they would sell just the tranny. They have not written back THX for the info
