So to use a MY04 diff in a MY00, all you need to do is replace the MY04 input flange with the MY00 flange, and it will bolt right up?

billman, has your customer reported any gear whine since the MY04 diff/flange swap?

You can swap diff flanges, or swap to a 04 driveshaft and output flange for the trans. You'll also need the 04's larger driveshaft bolts.

I'd probably try to find a 04 shaft, and use the larger bolts, as well as the 04 trans companion flange. Especially with the WHP you are making, larger driveshaft bolts wouldn't hurt

You can also swap the Trans companion flange without disturbing any bearing preload, unlike swapping the diff's flange.

We haven't put the 04 dif in yet, the guy found an 02 and we put it in last night...But he wants the 04 in soon, I'll post the progress...

I wouldn't mind getting a hold of an 04 driveshaft, and running bigger bolts. I bought a new 03 dif flange for about 76 bucks, had to come from Japan.
