anyone know what makes the 04-05 airbox different from the 06-08 airbox? same with the actual filter as well???

Just curious to know why these would be different?? i know 06+ has DBW but i dont think that would be why. Im looking to get a spare box and i wanted to know what the difference is before i go and buy one from an 04-05. let me know what you find out thanks guys

The official parts diagrams look slightly different, but only on the intake tube itself.

If they changed anything, it's relatively minor.

Anyone know the differences between the air filters and if they're interchangeable?

the 06+ doesn't use the air pump injection system , thus it doesn't have the mounting clips on the rear of the air box for the vacuum tank tubes, and it wouldn't have the mounting hole on the resonator part of the air box. I don't know why the air filter is a different size, but the filters have a differently shaped mounting tabs. The mounting hole in the bottom of the box that the air filter tab mounts in is also shaped differently. The mounting hole for the 06+ filter is a cross shape, the hole for the 00-05 is round, they correspond to their respective filters.
