I have an '03, about one month old. After the 600 mile suggested breakin period, I tried a few fast 1-2 shifts near redline. It grinds more often than not (70% plus probability).
If I shift 1-2 in the 7,000 - 8,000 rpm range, never a grind. No grinds in the other gears at near redline.
Also, I experienced some significant clutch slippage when I attempted some fast standing starts one evening. The problem does not appear during normal driving, and I hope further breakin will make it go away. I'll retest before long.
