02 ecu swap on 01, or just get a vafc i did search
Ive read 1000 of post on this and tere wasnt ONE dyno i was able to find stock vs stock or modded vs same modded. If anyone has or knows where of, please post.
So I have a 01, heard there are 5-10whp gains to be had with a 02 ecu.
Also heard that the 00-01 are a little less tunned (from honda) where as the 02-03 are a little more aggressive from honda.
Now would it not be cheaper to just buy a vafc and have it tuned, by doing so your able to adjust your vtec giving you a smoother change over, then the fuel can easily give you gains with proper dyno tuning so why waste money on a 02-03 ecu when you can buy a vafc and tune it.
Or ofcourse a aem would still net you bigger gains over a vafc.
Thanks guys for your time,
mods are exhaust, cai. (maybe a header in future but meh) Rest of the mods dont effect motor.
maybe i have more, i forgot, i have a room full of parts waiting

I believe 00 and 01 are identical so there is no advantage to switching.

Yup.
You would see better gains with the vafc2. Also you could always retune if you get more parts. If you have more money to spend then a greddy e-manage ultimate will be better. Im cheap so I got the vafc2. Not tuned yet though.

Yea, 02-03 is what you would want. There is no actual proof that it does anything, but every thread that I've read about some one switching has great reviews. Here's a couple:
