02' ECU compatible with 00' S2000

We tried installing an 02' ECU into my 00' S. When we tried starting the car, it didn't seem to turn over. So we re-installed the old ECU and it started up just fine. Any ideas anyone??

The immobilizer is preventing it from starting. You have to have the new ECU programmed to your key.

So I'd just have to go to any Honda dealership and have them do that?? Also, would you happen to know an approximate price?? Thanks..

I have no idea how much they charge, but any decent dealer can do it. All current Honda ECUs have immobilizers.
