Smile 02-03 ecu swap in my 01. BAD GAS MILEAGE

Well I just recently put the 02-03 ecu in my 01 and the car does run somewhat better from what I can tell but its getting really bad gas mileage now. I put a 1 bar over a half tank in it today and drove it 82 miles and the fuel light is about to come on. seems like every time i would look down another bar was gone. Im thinking maybe the ecu is re-learning the car??? what do you guys think?

youre gonna have to try the real way. the bars mean nothing! fill er up top, run her a bit, fill it back up til click. then divide. Its not gonna work too well when you just 'estimate' it. OR you can keep all of your gas recipts, calculate vs. mileage and get the real ave MPG. thats what I do..

good luck sir.

oh my bad i thought you were basing off of your half tank fill up. Id do as the guy above me said run a whole tank and then go back and fill up. the trick is to go to the same station/pump everytime.

well im interested to see your results because I was thinking about this mod equally for the tiny power boost and possible fuel improvement. what kind of driving are you doing to see this decline? and can you possibly go in depth of the advantages you felt with this mod. cheers.

Do the math at figuring real MPG instead of relying on the bars on the gauge.

i didn't feel much, it seems to pull smoother below vtec with a little less lag but i dunno if it was worth the money in my opinion. and you will have to get your keys re programmed to make it work

thanks that seems to be the common advantage to this mod...but nothing much more. was throttle response greater?
