'01 won't turn over
My '01 won't turn over. I replaced the battery and the starter but all it does when the button is pressed is turn the fuel pump on and make a "click" sound. I've checked the grounds and they look good.
To get it home it did pop start and ran fine.

Well I just did what the book said and jumped it, from the battery positive to the starter positive. It just makes a click like it's engaging but the motor doesn't spin. I think I might have gotten a bad starter from Advance Auto.

Yes, I tried that. Now if the battery was bad, would it make a difference if it was left in the system? Or should I have unhooked the battery? (when trying to jump it) A few minutes ago I had the parts store check my old starter (the core) and it seemed to be fine.
