Have you owned your car since new? If not, I bet the service was already performed. Your dealer should be able to check using just the VIN.

If the dealer did do it andy ou have the manual, you can check on the page that talks about the spark plug torque specs and they should have put a sticker over where it said 13 lb. of tq. so that it now reads 18 lbs. of tq.

I would assume that is on page 175 of the 2001 owners manual. I just noticed that mine had not been changed. Thanks god I am going to a colder plug soon anyway.

I've got 29K miles on my 01. I don't think it's been done. I'm gonna call them this week and have them check my VIN. I've owned the car for almost 4 years and it only had 6k miles on it when I got it.

Let me ask you this...

if i do indeed fall in that category and I had a misfire..could that lead to my sparkplug broken off and eventually a broken valve which then led to my blown engine????

I have had an open case with American claiming it wasnt my fault in this incident but since reading...i think this may be the cause of it....

let me know ur input..

also, i have a new engine by the way which i had to pay out of pocket...let me know..thanks!!
