I had this happen to me recently. I used some epoxy to "band-aid" the issue. I contacted my dealer to see what the options were. They only presented me with paying out of pocket or contacting Hondacare (as I have the extended warranty through them). Hondacare told me that all the cover is the mechanical aspect. I found a local interior shop to do it for me. Price was about 5-600 bucks for a replacement plastic window or 1100-1200 bucks for a new top with glass rear window. I will be taking the car soon but have not decided which to get. Hope this helps.

$700 bucks to install a little piece of plastic? What does this installation involve? Is there a "how to" somewhere that I could look at?
For anyone who doesn't need a complete top and only needs to replace the rear window, this is way over the top so to speak.
If the top is approaching the end of it's service life, replace the top. If it's in good condition, attempt to repair or replace the window yourself.
This is what I'd do and perhaps for less than $100. Consider.

its not hard, just very time consuming
The plastic rear window alone is about 225. If you think its that simple, I'll give you $300 to do mine.

That is actually a realistic price to do the job. In dealer terms, not bad.
However, I'm just going to put a day aside and do the labor myself.
btw, anybody know where I can find viynl like this in a local store? I've tried all the home depots and lowes already...
viynl roll from ebay --- LINK
