Default 00 S2k Hard to Shift

Hey guys, Im having a problem with my 2000 S2k. It has about 95,000 miles on it. The tranny fluid is full and the clutch resevoir is full. The clutch seems to engage and disengage fine but it is still hard to make a shift from any gear to any gear. It will come out of gear ok but trying to enter the next gear feels like it won't go in at all then when the rpm's go down a bit it will go right in. Also I replaced the slave cylinder and that seemed to help only a little. Any thoughts?

Thanks

How do you know the tranny fluid is full? Is it fresh fluid?

Full tranny fluid has no relationship with the quality of the fluid...flush and use GM synchromesh friction modified

I replaced the fluid about 5000 miles ago, and I checked the level when I was troubleshooting the problem a week ago.

This sounds like either a clutch fluid problem or a more serious problem in the clutch disc/pressure plate assembly. Since it's easier than changing the disc/pressure plate, try flushing and bleeding the clutch hydraulic system again. If you don't bleed it successfully, and it can be tricky to get right, you will have the symptoms that you decribe.

If you can row through the gears with the engine off, foot on clutch, it's not likely a tranny problem but a clutch or clutch fluid problem. If you can't do this, it may be a tranny or tranny linkage problem.

I think you are misunderstanding what he is saying.

It does shift through gears perfectly when the car is off with the clutch pressed down. I will try bleeding/flushing the slave again.

I have the same problem. Is your clutch pedal loose too like mine? I was told my clutch hydraulic cylinder is leaking air/oil. Cylinder needs to be replaced.
