Default Are 00-03 Engines all the same except for the oil jet bolts? anyone know?

I just bought an 02-03 ecu to put in my 01 due to some of the reviews on this board. I was just wondering if this would void my hondacare warranty and if the more aggressive fuel curve and added timing will cause any wear or harm in my older model engine (perhaps they made some improvements i am unaware of) I know that tenblade and hyperx have done this already with success but just curious of the engines are the same.

thanks guys

I believe they are the same with the exception of the oil jet bolts and the ecu as you have already mentioned.

Go ahead and swap that ecu out.

in 2002 honda switched to a revised ECU with re-mapped fuel curves. supposedly makes +5whp more than the previous s2000.

To answer the orginal question, if it's the orginal engine for the car, then yes, only the oil bolts. But if it was REPLACED by a dealer, then NO. According to a recent Service News, and I quote ,
" Several changes were made to the cylinder block, crankshaft, pistons and pistons rings in the 00-03 S2000 replacement engine."
The reason for the article was to make sure the techs/parts people would order the correct components.
"Refer to PIB A04-0009, Engine Block Assembly, 2000-03 S2000, when ordering a cylinder block, crankshaft, pistons, piston rings. Only the component parts listed in the PIB will work in this engine."
Hope this helps.....
