I think the TSB number is 54 or 55. I had it done on my '01 when the deceleration buzz got really annoying. I would think you could get this done regardless of your warranty situation, as it is a problem endemic to '00 and '01 (possibly later too?) model S2000's. And yes, replacing the clutch disk with the updated part will solve the problem, as the springs in the new disk are stiffer than the original.

Thank you so much. I am taking it in tomorrow to see what Honda can do for me. If they can't I guess i can just wait until the clutch wears out. Gives me a good excuse to practice launching the beast.

FYI, the noise does come back after the TSB is performed. I had mine done right before 36k mi, and it started coming back around 60k mi. Now @ 78k mi, it's just as bad, if not worse than before. Go ahead and get it done, @ the very least, you get a new pressure plate out of the deal.

Yep, had the same problem. Mine was replaced @28k miles...I figured I might as well get a free clutch if nothing else. I didn't realize how loud it was until I had the TSB done...Even if the noise does come back at least my clutch will last that much longer.

Clutch should take 4-6 hours.

Here's a copy of TSB-54 as published in Mitchell's On Demand. My copy only dates to May 2003, so I think it's a little thin on some of the TSB's for 2001+. This was only listed for 2000.

May be a little off topic, but check this one out. This was listed under the 2000 S2000 but I think was applied to all manual transmissions in general. Honda does pay attention to what we are doing on the net.
