Default 00 01 ECU vs 02 03

So I have heard that the 00 01 S2K's have bad ECU's. I was wondering if somone took the ECU off of a 02 03 and plugged it into the 00 01 would the 00 01 run better?! Faster?! Stronger?! Would there be any difference?!

Kind regards,
Joe

That's what I was wondering myself. I have heard a few people telling me (beacause I might get into a superclean 01 and out of my 03 high mileage). I have heard that the 00 01's burn alot of fuel in VTEC which makes them run rich?! I guess my main question is, what is the biggest difference between the 00 01 and the 02 03 besides the glass back window, rings in the tails, tweeters etc etc etc?! Performance wise what is the difference?! I know they have the same hp and tq but tsb's or anything?! All the help would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Kind regards,
Joe

all S2000's pretty much perform the same 00-present

that said, while the 00-01 might run slightly richer, the difference is going to be negligible.

Make sure the 01 your looking at doesn't have clutch buzz, it can be annoying.

Majestic Honda

Honda Parts Online

Select "Control Unit (Cabin)" in the System/Compenent list.

It's item 2 for $505. You can purchase a used one for $200-250.

00-01 are the lightest weight...2809lbs vs. 2811lbs of the 02-03's ...also the suspension is a little harder on the 00-01's

In a way, I put the 00-01's as the "most race preped" S2000's although the difference is practically nothing.
