I would just drain the coolant first. Sounds like a good time to replace it.
I'm not sure if you need to remove the tensioner or not... can you get to all the bolts on the water pump? If not, then you'll probably have to.

Would you suggest I drain the coolant by removing the rad hose?
Also, once the job is done, I will put fresh coolant in, how much coolant does the car take?

There is a petcock at the bottom of the radiator. With the airbox out you should be able to look down and see it on the lower radiator tank. There is also a drain on the side of the block in the oil filter/motor mount vicinity.
