[Q?] Rad. Fan Relay
When the car reaches temp. the radiator fan won't turn on! It seems to be intermittent. (sometimes it does turn on for a while) but after the engine is above 3 bars on the gauges the fan wont come on unless you turn on A/C.
I would suspect the relay is faulty but wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else.
Car: MY2000
Would anyone have a wiring diagram for the relays and associated wiring, as well as the resistance specs?
TIA

The fans won't always be running when the temp gauge reaches 3 bars. The fans are turned on by the fan switch in the bottom tank of the radiator at 199deg F.
Let the car run at idle, and the fans should cycle on when coolant temp gets over 199, then off when it drops. If the fans cycle, and the gauge never goes above 3 bars it's fine.

I missed the part about it going above 3 bars.
Coolant level is the 1st thing to check, as well as any coolant leaks.
Then you need to verify the thermostat is opening. Start the engine cold, and feel the outside temp of both hoses. The top hose will get warm 1st, then when the thermostat opens the bottom hose will get warm.
If the bottom hose never gets warm when the car is running hot, the thermostat is stuck shut. If the thermostat is opening, jump the contacts on the fan switch connector. If the fans then run, the fan switch is bad.
Has the coolant recently been changed? Sometimes air pockets can be trapped in the cooling system and cause intermittent running hot, and no hot air from the heater.
