Default =Out of nowhere= , no start / instrument panel

The S2k was running great, I went on holiday for 3 weeks leaving my baby with a battery tender keeping her charge.

Upon my return, battery is strong, but when I turn the key I only get the beeping sounds... Instrument panel stays dark and start button does nothing.

Anyone know what might be amiss? Odd, no?

I can only think somehow the battery tender caused a fuse(s) to blow?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check fuses.

Might also pull the battery and let sit for 5. Then hook up and restart.

Thanks rob. Linking to other thread.

I also think it must be a fuse, but I know nothing about them. I'll try the 5 min d/c and afterwards google for some fuse info.

Just because the battery is on a tender does not rule it out. The battery may even show good voltage on a multimeter. I would check the fuses first and then try to jump start it.

Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key? (before pressing start)

When my battery is dead I won't hear the fuel pump prime

I tried it while using jumper cables AND a portable jump station at the same time! ...same results. Its not a lack of power, so I am hoping to find a couple burned out fuses.

It strikes me as odd that this could have happened while the car was not in use, just sitting in my garage with a battery tender trickle charging the battery. Anyone have an opinion?

My 2004 recently had a no start condition. Battery was good, dash lit up, but would not react when I pressed the start button. I tracked it down to the clutch switch... There is a small nylon bushing that is pressed into the clutch pedal at the top which depressed the clutch interlock switch. My broken up (age) and the button was no longer being depressed. A new $2.00 part fixed the issue. Check on your floormat for small whiteish plastic pieces...

This plastic part sits with the clutch interlock switch on the diagram...

Think it was the alarm immobilizer. Check other thread.
