*Question For Vortech Owners RE: Oil Inlet Fitting*
Can someone help me figure out how to get to the oil inlet fitting at the SC??? The one that needs removed and cleaned w/high pressure air every 3,000 miles. I think a 17mm would fit it, but the SC and mounting brackets are making it really hard for me to get to.
Any suggestions, please???

I was thinking about this too....I didn't know it had to be cleaned every 3000 miles....
Did you try getting at it from under the car?? If you remove the oil filter I think you could get to it....Maybe.....

I have tried from under, over, left, right, etc... I can "get" to the fitting now, the problem is since it's such a tight area I cannot get any torque on the wrench to loosen it.

If you are talking about the fitting on the S/C itself, it would be near impossible to unscrew that one without removing the S/C and partially dismantling it. I have no idea how this task would ever be accomplished.

Here's an excerpt from the Vortech Owner's Manual, page 2:
This is what I'm referring to. Any thoughts? There has to be a way w/out removing any of the SC parts.
SECTION 4 NORMAL MAINTENANCE GUIDELINES:
1. Clean the supercharger oil inlet fitting every 3,000
miles. When the vehicle is cold, remove the oil inlet
fitting at the supercharger and clean it thoroughly
utilizing high pressure air to blow the orifice clean
before reinstallation. Do not attempt to remove the
screen/filter inside of the oil feed fitting. This oil inlet
fitting is designed with a very small orifice, which
provides a mist of oil directly onto the gears. Never
use Teflon tape or other sealants on any oil feed line
fitting. Do not overtighten fittings.

It is possible to custom make a tool that would fit in there. I was thinking about maybe modifying a long socket (or bending a wrench) to look something like an open-sided tubing wrench. Maybe someone who lives close to Vortech can phone them and ask them what their idea is for getting at this fitting. Perhaps they have such a tool.
