*HELP*What's the road load HP of S2000?
#3
I don't know exactly what it is.
I have imported my s2000 from USA and got inspection next month.
For "emission test" I have to write the "road load HP" at the so-complicated shit document.
There is example with Benz S500L and the car's road load is 8.1hp

I've just found out how to calculate it.
* inetia weight = car weight(kg) + 136
load road (PS) = inertia weight(kg) / 136
So. for S2000
1275(kg) + 136 = 1411(kg)
load road (PS) = 1411(kg) / 136 = 10.4
I got it!

I have standard road load HP(ps) .
For passenger car,
3 cylinder car 6.7hp
4 cylinder car 9.5hp
5~6 cylinder car 11.5hp
7 cylinder car 13.7hp
>8 cylinder car 13.3hp

Yes. I think so.
I don't understand about this all things that I have to firgure it out for import car inspection. I got the standard road load Hp from "Korea ministery of environment".
It's easy to private import car to Korea, but very complicated & hard to pass the inspection. It costs normally 5,000 dollars for "emission, noise, safte test for private import car"
For emission test... NOx. you must be much lower than california emission NOx rate. It's impossible to pass it, even new any new cars in the world can not pass the emission test. That's why we have to use a temporary expedient to pass it.
Everyone knows everything about this unknown test .....because of behind money from HYUNDAI motors.

This is Korea emission test pass value.
CO: less than 2.81g/km
NOX: less than 0.19g/km
NMHC: less than 0.058g/km
To pass my S2000, I have to modify my car.
I'm thinking now how to modify my exhaust system.
any good idea?! plz inform me.

Maybe "Road Load" is multiplier that describes how much extra weight you're putting on the roads with your car (compared to walking, I guess).
136kg ~ 300lb, which is about two people. So the formula is (total weight)/([2]occupant weight). If you had a magic car that weighed nothing, the Road Load would be 1. Those 6000lb SUVs have RLs of >20.
And is there really such a thing as a 7-cylinder engine? HPH
