OK I'll call myself stupid. I washed the wife's V6 and put a coat of Z2 on it. I planned to wipe it off in the morning. She had to leave so I didn't get to it. It rained. When I finally got to it it was covered in road film and Zaino film. DOH!
Yesterday I washed it with Z7 and the road grime came off leaving the Zaino film. Amazingly the Zaino film came off with a towel as if I had just put it on. She looks all better. And the car recovered too! Moral of the story is don't put the wax on if you don't have time to take it off.

Thanks for the tip, wirejock! Also, be sure to let it dry for several hours if the temp drops below 60F. I waxed mine in the driveway one evening and then the sun went down, the temps dropped, the wax wasn't ready so I left it overnight in the garage with the wax on then buffed in the morning when it was dry.

This product is not a carnauba wax,it is a polymer and at lower temps it takes longer for it to set-up. Sal (ZAINO OWNER) mentions that in Phoeniz it can come off in 15 minutes due to dry and hot climate. I just did mine Z1,Z2,Z5 and Z6. I have been detailing cars for over 30 years and find this product to be the best I have ever used. I waited overnight on each application and it does make a difference as temps now in DE are in the 40's at night. Follow his instructions very closely from his website and you will not be disappointed. If you are unhappy for any reason it can all be taken off using Isopropyl Alcohol as Zaino is very paint friendly. I'm pretty fussy with my stook but the guys in Honda service who did the seat belt recall could really notice a difference. I'm using it on some of my customers cars including an "original" 427 Cobra the day after Thanksgiving. Later, S2KRAY [QUOTE]Originally posted by Jay Li:

Thanks for the alcohol tip S2K. I looked at it this morning in the sun and there is some hase left. I'm going to try and take it off with more towel buffing, and if not I may have to remove and reapply those areas. If it were any other color but black it probably wouldn't be noticeble.

Just a question along the same line here....
There will be a few of us getting the S2k in the winter months. I'm wondering if using a heat gun, or hair dryer to speed up the drying process for Zaino. Will this be beneficial or not advised. The heat I'm talking about would be about the temp you would get if you had a wood burning stove in the garage with a box fan blowing the warm air directly onto the car's surface...probably say 80-120 degrees F.
I think that if I was storing an S2000 for the winter, this would be an excellent project to do on the car. They say that the more coats of Zaino, the more deeper the shine will be! Just imagine all the goregeous S2000's that will look like they were just dipped in that color 5 minutes ago!

I've seen Zaino dry overnite at close to freezing. It's easy enough to check. Draw a finger accross the surface. If it smears it's still wet. If it comes off like dust. It's dry. And yes, the shine gets deeper with every coat. I'm sure there's a stopping point. The most I've ever applied was 3 coats of Z5 followed by 3 coats of Z2. Looked really good until the rains started here.
