Z06 vs. S2000

Your girlfriend's dad will be most impressed with you just accepting that his car is superior.
But give him a ride to impress him some more.
Remember that he has to trust you to drive his daughter around in that speed-machine.
Don't over do it.

I think the only thing you can beat him in is dignity. You own a car designed by Honda's Formula 1 engineers-a team that won a great many races against the likes of Ferrari. It is a simple, humble yet refined car that can hold it's own with most cars, without the use of brute force or $100,000.
the corvette is almost $20,000 more than an s2000. You put 20 grand into your S and you'll eat that vette for lunch and spit it out cause there's better things out there to eat.
I think the S is symbolic of the pure, simple pleasures in life. I feel more happy and alive driving this car than a vette (ps - I chose my s2000 over a vette when I bought. I love the vette, but it doesn't speak to me like the S does)
my $.02

I too almost went with an 02-03 Z06 but the lines of the S2000 are simply breathtaking. I also have too much love for Honda and don't mind giving up some torque for 9,000 RPM's.

This is a great reply
Dear future dad, your Z06 will blow my S away any day, but if you would kindly step into the passenger side, I would show you why I bought it over a Z06.

Please provide me with your list of inefficient sportscar engines producing more than 100hp per liter.
Hp/ltr is something that looks neat in magazines and sales brochures. It doesn't win races and it doesn't get better MPG.
I love my S2000 as much as any of you but power is power, and in the end that's all that matters.

Road and Track did a "Battle of the Brands" comparo about about a year ago (you might be able to find it on their webpage, I have the issue at the office). They took a bunch of cars out to the track and let a single hot-shoe drive all of them. I think the Z06 was lapping somewhere in the order of 20+ seconds quicker than the S2K on a relatively short track (1.5 mi?). The only car faster than the Z06 out of the 12 sports cars was the 360 Modena. The Z06 was quicker than the 550 Ferrari, BMW Z8, and a couple other borderline supercars. The S2K was almost dead last. An SS Camaro ate it for lunch! It seemed to be a torque biased track with tight turns requiring low rev horsepower to pull out of quickly, but either way, the S was hurting. It still got rave reviews for it's go-kart-like handling and fun factor, but overall it wasn't a good showing.

I don't think you should argue with him at all. Damn man, he owns a freakin Viper and a 360. You should make him like you and not have his daughter dump you. Also, the ass kissing might land you to drive a FERRARI!!!!!!!!!!

I romp'd all over a Z06 at ThunderHill which happily led me to believe that the best measure of a car's performance is to multiply A) its driver's skill x B) the size of his balls.
