In my '05 AP2, my mpg went down by adding the 225/255 RE01-Rs. Good thing is my speedo is right on (4mph slow stock @ 80) but I'm getting 25mpg highway and about 21 mpg with my auto-x trailer. I got 12mpg after spending an afternoon on the Dragon. Highest I saw was 27mpg with the old tires and facctory alignment.

More torque will give you better milage. Keeping the RPM low on this car will not save you gas. It's the opposite from my experience. You should keep it at the recommended.

I do believe you'll get more miles to the gallon if you cruise at 80mph. Give it a try and let us know

^^I dont think you read the previous posts, but that's cruising at 4k in sixth gear, which is the best point if you're cruising in sixth. It has been noted already that he is not getting as much MPG compared to the other members.

Quick question....what size tires and rims do you have?

I get about 20 w/combined city/highway. I just took a road trip last week (about 240 miles round trip) and I got 29mpg w/cruise set at 72mph which is about 4k rpm.

4 months old, 5,500 miles, stock everything all around. i'll check the PSI tonight when i get home.

alignment done at 4,000 miles due to steering wheel being off center (and it still is, unfortunately). other than that, nothing to report.

My max on a tank of gas was 30.0x mpg. This was 95% highway cruising between 73-78 mph. I can pull 26 mpg with 95% highway cruising at 82-87 mph.

let me just put it this way...i can fill up drive 75mph for 100 miles and use about a 1/4 tank....i heard this rumor the s2k likes high rpm on the highway. so i gave it a shot. I drove 90MPH yes 90MPH for 100 miles, I did not even use 1 BAR FROM FULL TANK!!!!!!! So now im firm believer in 5th gear for around 70-80mph and 6 gear for higher speeds to get best mileage.
