WHY WOULD YOU CRUISE AT 4K RPM. Don't be like some ricer shit civic cruising at high rpm making noises. I mean don't you feel annoyed and bothered by the sound?
umm, at 75mph in 6th gear, the engine is spinning at 4,000 RPM. there's nothing i can do about that. i would give up the ability to drive and accelerate in 6th gear to have an actual overdrive gear to get better gas mileage (and have the engine spinning at like 3,000 RPM or something a bit more tame) at highway cruising speeds.

i don't understand why you're being a jerk....? i'm not a ricer, i don't do flybys, i've never even raced anyone, and i'm willing to bet that i drive the car more civilized than you do.

lol sorry about that. Again in my previous post, I mentioned that i was being lazy to convert miles to km. Anyway, you are gettin mpg that's below than others. I do think ur mpg will improve by crusing at 3k~3.5kish though

Just did 307 mile round trip highway drive this weekend. I filled up, put 10.2 gallons in. Cruise was set at 79-82.

I have done 2 road trips that were 100% highway with only 1 or 2 trips into VTEC. Got 30-32 mpgs both ways and one was in the rain with the defroster cranked the whole time.

cruising at 80mph and getting about 30mpg? wow. so does it sound like my car is running rich? is there any way to tune the car to run slightly leaner without modding? i only ask because it's annoying to have to fill up the car after like 220 miles on the trip. i don't let gas-sipping philosophies get in the way of enjoying the car, but it'd be nice to get like 270miles on 11 gallons (24.5 mpg) of 50/50 city/highway driving and maybe closer to 300 on 11 gallons of 100% highway (27.2 mpg).

i guess i'm just not used to it, since my last car (Acura TSX) could go about 520 miles on one tank of gas on the highway.

I think the last time I got 220 miles out of a tank was a trip down to Sebring (from Orlando) and spending about 4.5 hours on the track, doing a HPDE.

I get 30 mpg in my AP1, top up, air on, while towing a 500# autocross trailer.

I'd be dead under a truck or some big SUV if I cruised at those RPMS.
