thanks man, i really love that sound. i loved the short ram on my b16 just cause of the sound but i really want to go with something thats going to sound good and be something thats going to benifit my car. i dont want to regret it later on and be like "i should have not even wasted money on this" happens all the time but really want my first mods to be put to good use. i was thinking about the comptech or the v2 but really gonna try and do a little research. anyone have a comptech thats wants to share their opinion? thanks again for ur input!
As for power gains, you're not going to get much with any intake, and some will increase power in part of the power band at the cost of power in other ranges, and the end result can be a net loss. The AEM CAI (or any other tuned CAI) will produce a little more power because of the tuning and cooler air, but it's a small difference. That said, the noise makes the car subjectively faster, and that will make you grin. Engine access is also easier, and a quality CAI looks really nice. I had the AEM V1 on the car when I won my class at HIN Atlanta.
Buy an intake for looks, sound, and to improve engine access, and you want be dissipointed. Just don't expect much of a power gain, 'cause it ain't gonna happen.

I ordered the Comptech CF icebox months ago from HTG and found it was backordered until March 1, then it still never came now I hear Comptech has gone under so i don't expect to get it any time soon. Nothing to do with HTG tho he has always been when ordering in the past. I think im going to go with a Spoon snorkel and a K&N drop-in now...

K&N FIPK... sounds and performs as well as any true CAI, but without the risk of hydrolock
I like the K&N FIPK GenII ... good sound. clean install.
