Xpel and other Clear Bra Users

Actually, there are 2 widely used urethane films, 3M's Scotchcal and Avery Dennison's Stoneshield. Both films protect equally well, but with 2 main differences. The 3M incorporates an actual clear coat top layer that minor scuffs and scratches can be buffed out with mild polish, the Avery film doesnt have this top layer but is a bit(2mil) thicker. Installers usually prefer Avery since its more pliable than the 3M since it lacks the rigid clear coat top layer, and therefor easier to install, also its marginally less expensive than 3M. Aesthetical, 3M looks better on black cars, since avery sometimes has a very light haze that is only detectable on black, and Avery looks better on white cars, since 3M can, over time, have a slight tint change. Dont freak out though, this is a slight tint change that isnt noticeable on any other color than white due to its very high contrast. You can tell the 2 films apart by the backing paper, 3M is covered with small red 3M logos, Avery is plain white. Hope than helps, just remember, always 3M on black, always Avery on white, any other color both films work equally well.
